Command Sgt. Major Otis L. Pugh, Installation Command Sergeant Major
Command Sgt. Maj. Otis L. Pugh has served for over 26 years in the military, having enlisted in the active Army following his high school graduation in 1985. His extensive military education includes the Drill Sergeant Course, Pathfinder Course, and Sergeants Major Academy. He joined the Indiana National Guard in 1997 as a Sergeant First Class. CSM Pugh has served with honor in various positions throughout the active Army and Indiana National Guard. His command and staff assignments include: Scout, Instructor/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle Commander and Drill Sergeant with the 5th Squadron, 15th Cavalry Regiment; Scout Section Leader, 1st Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment; Senior Scout Observer Controller, G Troop, 5th Army West; Military Entrance Processing Station Guidance Counselor and Recruiting and Retention Recruiter, First Sergeant, Sergeant Major, and Command Sergeant Major. He recently returned from Iraq where he served as the 219th Battlefield Surveillance Command Sergeant Major during Operation New Dawn. The 219th BfSB was the last INARNG unit to leave the Iraqi theater of operations. His numerous badges and awards include: Bronze Star, Combat Action Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. The CSM's office is available by dialing 812-526-1101.
