Intended Use of the Conference Center
The primary function of the Atterbury Conference Center is as a location for official activities, meetings, conferences, and events conducted by the Indiana National Guard. The Conference Center may also be used for certain non-military purposes, but it is not the mission of the Atterbury Conference Center to provide space for educational sessions in a classroom setting for the installation, nor is it the mission of the Center to function as a public meeting facility or as a facility for Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) events.
Use of these facilities for any purposes, official or unofficial, must be approved in advance by the Commander, Camp Atterbury. All events will require a "host" or individual appointed as the primary point of contact. All events must be scheduled in advance.
Non-Military Use of the Conference Center
Use of the Conference Center may be granted for non-military use only when granted by the proper authority. Use must be of a direct benefit to the U.S., promote the National Defense or an Army mission, or be in the public interest (with a military sponsor).
Use for non-military purposes will be granted in the following order of preference:
- Non-military entities which support the installation/projects, or national defense mission
- Other Military Departments or Department of Defense activities or agencies
- Other Federal agencies or activities
- Contracts who support numbers two and three above
- State and local government agencies or entities
Non-military users of the Conference Center must provide a certificate of insurance showing adequate general public liability and, where applicable, liquor liability coverage.
