The services our office provides focuses on Information, Referral, Outreach and Follow-up. Family members are informed on their benefits and entitlements. These include financial management, family care plans, personal affairs, medical and dental care, how to access TRICARE, DEERS enrollment, employment and/or reemployment rights, predictable psychological strains and tools to cope with separation and reunion.
The Family Assistance Centers provide assistance with the full range of situations and problems that can arise for families in conjunction with military deployments. They also provide accurate and current information, regular contact with families, and coordination with the deployed units.
We provide services to all branches of the military, States and Territories.
Our goal is to have 100 percent contact with every family through active outreach during a deployment!

AKO helps military families communicate Lack of communication with loved ones is a major contributor to deployment stress, whether you are the soldier sent downrange or the family member who remains at home. The Army is helping to relieve some of that stress with an expansion of Army Knowledge Online, the already successful website, instant messaging, and e-mail system. The cost is free.Immediate and extended family members of soldiers and Department of Defense civilians can get their own "guest" accounts on AKO, and safely communicate with their loved ones, wherever they might be deployed. Guest accounts require sponsorship from an individual currently holding an active and full AKO Account. If registering for a guest account you will need to enter the AKO Email address of the individual sponsoring you for a guest account. Go to AKO Login under the new user section click "register for AKO" then select "create guest account" and complete the registration form. Select the "Next" button. You will be assigned your AKO username and will be prompted to create a password. Follow the instructions and you are done. An e-mail will be sent to your sponsor with instructions for granting your account. To approve your request, your sponsor will then need to log into his/her AKO account and click on the "My Account" link at the top of their page then on "Sponsor Management" Once your account has been approved, you will be able to log into the AKO Portal immediately." Guest accounts are good for 365 days from the date of registration and are not limited to family members: medically discharged service members, local national employees, Army volunteers, contractors, retired DA Civilians, foreign officers (attached to U.S. Army), cadets (collegiate), members of the US Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, or Navy, Department of Homeland Security, or Federal civilian agencies are also eligible.
