The 138th Regiment (Combat Arms) Indiana Regional Training Institute recently received accreditation evaluations on the 11B Career Management Field Courses and the Warrant Officer Candidate Course. The infantry courses received the highest level of accreditation receiving the “Learning Institution of Excellence.” The WOC Course, which is one of only a few RTIs in the nation to conduct such a course, received “Fully Accredited” rating.
The 11B Career Management Field Courses evaluated for accreditation were the Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer and the 11B Transition and Reclassification Courses. The TRADOC Accreditation Team continuously noted the professionalism of the instructors and the ability to conduct training that exceeded the Program of Instruction requirements. During the out briefing, the Indiana RTI was given many “sustains” and to the delight of the cadre and staff, no improvements were noted by the team.
The team asked for some of the RTI’s resources to take back to Fort Benning, Ga., to show others “what right looked like.” Indiana Regional Training Institute exceeded the standard of the 11B National Guard Subject Matter Expert rating and is recognized by TRADOC as a Learning Institution of Excellence.
More recently the Indiana RTI Warrant Officer Candidate Course received a partial accreditation evaluation from Fort Rucker, Ala., personnel which houses the active component WOC program. Instructors and cadre from across the nation convened on the training grounds of Camp Atterbury to conduct Phase 3, the final phase before Warrant Officer commissioning.
Led by Indiana’s Chief Warrnt Officer 5 Frank T. Vaughn and assisted full time by Warrant Officer Bo Haugestad and Warrant Officer Jason Compton, they received the highest level of accreditation possible of Fully Accredited. The Indiana WOC program has become the model for conducting all phases of the program and fully expects in an upcoming full accreditation evaluation to receive even better results.
The Indiana Regional Training Institute is proud of their recent accreditation evaluations and accomplishments and is pushing forward to provide the most relevant and contemporary training environment in the nation in all courses conducted.
